Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. That company processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive routine technical information when a page loads, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as popular pages and points where visits end. A browser can reject cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing faults and maintaining site performance
- Passing a search request to the selected partner
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Improving pages that do not work well
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Kent County Criminal History does not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official sources such as the Kent sheriff, the combined clerk and courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. A partner's own privacy policy controls information submitted to its box, including retention and sharing. Review those terms before running a query because this policy does not govern that processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to county offices, Texas agencies, court systems, legal resources, or commercial search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Check them before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and administrative measures protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so an absolute guarantee against unauthorized access is not possible.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified request concerning a minor's submitted data will be addressed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer law may provide rights over personal data. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs public records held by government bodies, while Government Code Chapter 411 limits dissemination of criminal-history record information. Those laws do not make this private site a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
