Terms of Use

These conditions apply whenever you browse, read, or use a search tool on this website. Continued access signals acceptance of every term below. Stop using the site if you do not agree.

NO FCRA USE. Kent County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide a service for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This resource identifies criminal-record channels in Kent County and Texas. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of every government body. It does not store official files, conduct government checks, retrieve records, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify custodians such as the Kent County Sheriff, the county and district courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, while also linking to optional third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is permitted only if you agree not to:

  • Use the service in violation of federal, Texas, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass a person with information found here
  • Rely on site content for an FCRA-regulated decision
  • Seek unauthorized access to any account, server, or system
  • Deploy scraping, bot, or other automated access tools
  • Interfere with site availability or another visitor's use

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information reached here may be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Texas registry information is published for public safety awareness. It does not authorize contact, retaliation, or vigilante conduct against a person listed in the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and misuse may carry criminal or civil consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offer tools intended for regulated screening. You must not use site or linked-tool data to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally compliant check for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized official process or an FCRA-compliant provider, not from this site.

5. No Legal Advice

General information about Kent County records is not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can advise how a warrant, charge, conviction, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to particular facts.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Records change as charges are filed or dismissed and as courts grant expunction or nondisclosure. Gaps and delay can occur. No statement here is an official statement of the Kent sheriff, a court, the clerk, or Texas DPS.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, courts, legal resources, or commercial services outside our control. Their operators are responsible for content, availability, prices, privacy, and terms. Review those rules before using an external service.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, graphics, and logos belong to Kent County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from them.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from use of the site, its content, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, actions, fees, and costs caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute related to site use must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revised terms become effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected language will be adjusted only as needed to make it enforceable.
